816 - Kiwi Brand cleaver knife with a six and a half inch blade and a black plastic handle.

The Kiwi 816 is a lightweight cleaver style knife.  It has a razor sharp 1mm thin blade with a double bevelled cutting edge.  The blade has a narrow design which results in a lightweight and ergonomic cleaver that is especially good when you have a lot of vegetables to prep.

Made with SUS402J2 Japanese high carbon stainless steel which has been hardened and tempered for sharpness with an ergonomic and durable black polypropylene plastic handle.

For some time now I've been hoping to find a knife that offers cutting performance similar to a Kiwi #21 or #22 but with a blade length & heft closer to a #171/173.

Despite the different profile, this is that! Or nearly so, maybe halfway between. It just as handy as I imagined, the most convienient grab n go kitchen knife around.

What do you even call this style of knife? A petty cleaver? A short slicer? Whatever it is, it performs kind of like a cross between a mulberry knife and a tiny bolt of lightning.
